How do I get birth control pills in Norway?

Jente, 20

Hi! I'm from Bulgaria and I'm going to study 1 years study in Norwegian before I going to study a bachelor of nursing. But here in Bulgaria I'm going on birth control pills. The name is yhantats. My GP didn't won't to give me more than one package of the pills because I don't ''need more than 1''. What do I do if i'am having sex in Norway? I don't trust condoms. How do I get birth control pills in Norway? I'm moving 26. January. And how do I get help with it?

Hei!

I am not familiar with the name of your birth control pills, Yhantats.

Bring the pills with you to Norway, then the doctor can see what active substance Yhantats have. Then it should be possible to find a birth control pill that is almost the same.

When you come to Norway you can get in touch with "helsestasjon for ungdom" where you live. Ask people at school where you can find it. "Helsestasjon for ungdom" is an offer for youths between 13-20(24) years. Everything is free of charge. You can talk to a public health nurse and doctor there. They have å lot of knowledge about contraception.

I wish you all the best in Norway and good luck with your studies!

Vennlig hilsen helsesykepleier
