I used to be cheerful, but depression changed everything..Help!

Hi, I'm a 14 year old girl I had been happy so far in my life I have always been a cheerful person. Yet everything changed when I got into depression I started hating myself feeling dead inside no emotion neither feelings. Now I'm not deppressed yet I'm lost, lost in a world with no end I feel that I don't know who I am and I'm actually lost in between two worlds the first world is the world of happiness. My old happiness now it's gone. And the other one is about my reality about how much I suffer yet hide I've had enough I want to change but I don't know how. Please Help

Hi, girl 14!
Experiencing depression can be tuff, and many can relate to what you are describing. First I want to tell you that its hope! You can find back to your self and the old happiness!
My first advice is to talk to someone about how you are feeling. When we explore og express our thoughts and emotions, we often see things more clearly, and feel better afterwords. It can be your teacher, the school nurse, or "helsestasjon for ungdom".
There is also things you can try out, that we know can increase happiness:
- Get fresh air and socialize.
- To get enough sleep is important, so try to go to bed and wake up at about same time every day.
- Do things that makes you feel happy, or used to make you happy before you got the depression. Sometimes this actions will bring the good feelings back.
- Try to maintain a healthy eating habbit.
- When we are feeling down, we often start thinking bad about ourselves, like you describe. Remind yourself that this thoughts are false! They dont represent the reality. So try to be your own best friend and give your self compliments.
